Yoga

Yoga translates as ‘to yoke’ and refers to the union of the mind, body and spirit. Our yoga classes and events are designed to help embody you in feelings of calm, centeredness and inner strength.


The physical yoga practice is slower paced and includes static holds so that you can tailor the asana (yoga pose) to suit your unique body. This does not mean that the classes are necessarily easy. We stand with the attitude that slower is stronger and that holding asana for longer offers students time to understand alignment, muscle engagement and the stability needed in each exercise, transition and pose. 


Offering a variety of options while holding asana allows students of all levels and abilities the opportunity to both enjoy and feel physically challenged in their practice. This means that students who are building strength, new to the practice or rehabilitating from injury will be able to explore different variations of an asana so they can feel what is healing and what is not without the fear of “falling behind.” 


Within our yoga classes, there is a special emphasis on breathwork and somatic practices to aid a reduction in levels of stress, anxiety or feelings of overwhelm. Our mission is that you walk out of every class feeling buoyant and free in your body and mind.


Yoga is facilitated at Repower through Private lessons, Workshops and Retreats. Private lessons are designed around a client’s individual needs while workshops and retreats are themed in a particular yoga subject and rich in the combination of play and relaxation.
